What’s it all about?
Everyone loves a celebration! Nothing is better, when celebrating a special occasion, than a delicious home-made and decorated cake.
In this workshop you will learn that baking and decorating a cake doesn’t need to be difficult and you’ll be saying “I made it myself” in no time.
What will we do?
In this cooking class local chef, Melissa Strachan, will present some ideas for home-baked celebration cakes. She will provide two go-to cake recipes and show you how to prepare your cake for decorating. She will then explain how to make a mirror glaze and chocolate ganache, and how to use fondant. Participants make these delicious treats and, at the conclusion of the workshop, are able to taste the final products.
Apart from sharing some delicious recipes, Mellissa will give tips and tricks during the workshop that will help even inexperienced cooks gain confidence in the kitchen.
